How many times have you been told that feeling grateful is the key to happiness?
Sometimes that advice really pisses me off. Because it's hard to go from cranky and annoyed to grateful.
I discovered it helps to take baby steps -- find something in the moment I can just appreciate: my breath; a soft breeze; my puppy's adoring eyes. By focusing and really feeling that appreciation, it often ripens into true gratitude.
From there, it's a hop, skip and jump to joy.
